The Cutter Operator must be able and willing to do the following:

  • Read a precision ruler to 1/64 of an inch
  • Read a job ticket to determine how a job is to be set up
  • Program computer and set the cutting machine for individual job specifications
  • Measure printed sheet to determine proper cut position for length, width, and proper flap position
  • Cut the paper to job specifications by using the cutting machine
  • Determine out of register print
  • Determine dry up and unacceptable copy quality and/or color
  • Read and maintain cutting schedule
  • Be knowledgeable of Quality Assurance procedures
  • Know and maintain proper lubrication of cutting machine
  • Adjust and change cutting blade as needed
  • Complete the sign-off paperwork after verifying that the specifications have been met to customer’s requirements
  • Maintain safe work area and safe work habits around machinery
  • Clean area by removing trash and sweeping up paper scraps
  • Perform and/or verify area clearance

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee needs to have good hearing and vision. This position also requires the employee to: use hands and fingers in continuous lifting and stacking (repetitive) motions, stand for long periods of time, walk, pull up to 1,800 pounds (on manual pallet jack), and lift up to 40 pounds.
